WEATHERFORD -- Janice Gayle Bateman, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at home.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Friday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford.
Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances the family suggests donations in Janice's memory to the Pythian Home, 1825 Bankhead Rd., P. O. Box 239, Weatherford, TX 76086 or to the American Cancer Society, 3301 W. Frwy., Fort Worth, TX 76107.
Janice was born July 7, 1937, daughter of Carlos D. and Thelma G. Leake Goddard in Fort Worth. She met and married Rufus K. Bateman on July 14, 1956 in Fort Worth. They spent 59 happy years together and raised three wonderful children. Janice was a gifted artist and was a member of Clay and Canvas Group of Artists, Oil Painters of American, National Water Color Association and other artist organizations.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma G. Goddard; father, Carlos D. Goddard; brothers, Carlos Goddard and Eugene Goddard.
Survivors: Husband of 59 years, Rufus K. Bateman; daughters, Dana G. Van Patten and husband, Mike and Gina R. Roglin and husband, Steve; son, Corey R. Bateman; grandchildren, Laura G. Gilliland and husband, Matt, Jarod K. Howard and wife, Kim, Kellie M. Shirey and husband, Eric, Joshua E. Roglin and wife, Erica and Emilie C. Roglin; great-grandchildren, Taylor Merchant, Ashley Merchant, Amber Merchant, Ashlyn Gilliland, Breana Gilliland, Devin Gilliland, Brailyn Shirey, Bryson Shirey, Cheyenne Howard and Stella Roglin; and many other loving family members and friends.
