Helen S. Rogers, 83, formerly of the Springtown-Azle area, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, in Euless. Celebration of life: Will be held at a later date, to be announced. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the "In As Much" Food Pantry at Eagle Mountain United Methodist Church in Azle. Helen, a loving wife and mother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a longtime registered nurse. She was in the first graduating class of registered nurses at the University of Texas in Galveston in 1950. Helen and her husband, Jimmy, established a Parkinson's support group at Eagle Mountain United Methodist Church, where they were both very active, longtime members. Helen and Jimmy were both very involved in the In As Much Food Pantry at Eagle Mountain UMC. The family wishes to thank Jack's Place in Euless for providing the loving caring and nurturing for our mother in her final days. She was predeceased by her husband, James Jackson, and her parents. Survivors: Children, Kathey Drennan, Douglas Rogers and wife, Lori, and Jeanne LaGrone; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sally Attaway; brother, William Singleton and wife, Jane Ann; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
