Vera Adelle Wilkinson Martin was born on March 1, 1918 in Mineral Wells, Texas. She was the oldest daughter of Dean and Lucille (Harrington) Wilkinson. Adelle was a graduate of Caddo High School. She married Harold Dee Martin on August 29, 1936. Adelle and Harold lived in many towns in Texas, spending a number of years in Kerrville at their ranch, but Mineral Wells was always "home". In 1978, they returned to Mineral Wells to enjoy their "golden years" with family and friends. Adelle and Harold were members of the Baptist church and faithful servants to Lord. Mimi, as she was called by her grandchildren, made a house a home--a loving home filled with music, delicious food to eat on the stove and a clean bed for a night's rest. Most important to Mimi was that her grandchildren accepted Jesus into their heart as their Lord and Savior. A gifted pianist and organist, she played by ear any song she heard. She was taught to play the piano as a child by her grandfather, Brown Harrington. She began playing the piano in the church and continued to share her gift playing the piano and organ for anyone who called and asked her. She was a member of the organ club, and she played for the nursing home, funerals and weddings. Adelle was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Harold Martin; sister, Elizabeth Collins; brother, Jack; son, Harold Dean Martin; and granddaughter, Alicia Elizabeth Alexander. Those left behind to celebrate her life, proud to call her mother and remember a "Mimi" story are her daughter-in-law, Dell Turner Martin of Kerrville, Texas; daughters, Linda McDonnell and husband, Mac, of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Elizabeth Pearson and husband,Richmond, of Leroy, Alabama; son, Jerry Nolan and wife, Christy of Gladwin, Michigan; grandchildren, Melissa Martin Hoggett and husband,Jerry, Harold Dean Martin, Jr. and wife, Belinda of Junction, Texas, Jennifer Martin Riley and husband, Kelly of Dallas, Texas, Clay Alexander and wife, Missy, Charlie Alexander and wife, Kim of Mineral Wells, Texas, Lindee Gartman and husband, Allen of Leroy, Alabama, Lee Pearson of Orange Beach, Alabama, Kathryn and Martin Pearson of Leroy, Alabama, Amy McElya and husband, Keith of Dallas, Texas, Bret Martin of Mineral Wells, Texas; her cherished brother-in-law, W.
