Virgil Leroy Terry

Virgil L. Terry passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Service: 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Springtown, 500 N. Main St., Springtown, 76082, with visitation one hour prior. Interment: Springtown Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the food pantry at the First Baptist Church of Springtown. Virgil was born on February 18, 1920 in Richards, Colorado. He was the oldest of 5 children born to Elmer and Stella Terry. Virgil was a WWII veteran who retired from the U.S. Air Force and later from Bell Helicopter. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Springtown and of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #587 and was also a radio amateur, W5LYM. He will be remembered with loving thoughts by all who knew him. Survivors: loving wife of 71 years, Lucy Terry; children, Karen Bowman and husband, Kirby, Chuck Terry and wife, Toni, and Steven Terry; grandchildren, Kimberly Boaz, Kirby Terry Bowman, Deirdre Dacus, Carmon Smith and Brittany Cummings; 8 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Aubrey Terry and Delbert Terry and wife, Maxine.
