FORT WORTH -- John Robert Urban, 64, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at his home in Fort Worth. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens of the Valley Memorial Park, 5600 Mineral Wells Highway, Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Urban family suggests contributions in John's memory to The Thursday Boys, www.thethursdayboys.org. John Robert Urban was born Aug. 1, 1948, in Houston, son of Kenneth Robert and Dorothy Urban. He graduated with the class of 1965 from Houston's North Shore High School and received a bachelor's degree from Southern Arkansas University. John also received master's degrees from LSU and UTA. He began his career at Booker T. Washington High School in Shreveport, La., where he taught for several years. After teaching school, John began a career in sales, which lasted for more than 20 years. Before retiring six months ago, he was a corporate trainer, for which he was very proud. John honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. John was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Cheryl Wedgeworth. Survivors: Son, Jon Urban and wife, Regina, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Kathryn, Matthew and Emily; mother, Dorothy Urban of Benbrook; siblings, Kenneth Robert Urban Jr., Linda Lee Henson and Fred Minert, and Donna Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
