Betty Jo Prescott, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013. Service: 10:00 AM, Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Springtown, Texas. Interment following at the Jaybird Cemetery. Visitation: Tuesday at White's Funeral Home in Springtown, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choosing or to First Baptist Church of Springtown. Betty Jo was born in Windom, Texas on February 17, 1926, the daughter of Romeo Whirley and Adrus Havens. She was the second of six children. She married Charlie T. Prescott on September 17, 1945 in Colorado City, Texas. They enjoyed sixty seven loving years together. She enjoyed a career as both a teacher and a nurse where she touched the lives of many. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing all of her own clothes. She also enjoyed gardening, painting ceramics and spending time with her friends and family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Springtown, Texas. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nelda Dain and Jimmie Lee Wooley. She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Charlie T. Prescott; her daughter, Sherry Suda, and her husband, Jim; grandaughters, Melissa and Nicole Clark; sister, Bobbie Jean Harkey, and brothers, J.L. and Earl Whirley.
