Mike Williams, 50, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, surrounded by family at his home in Azle. Memorial service: 4 p.m. Saturday at Outreach of Love, 3605 W. Highway 199, Springtown. Mike Williams was born Jan. 22, 1963, in Moline, Illinois, son of the late Rayburne Joseph and Leona Catherine Seafeldt Williams. Mike married his high school sweetheart, the former Dona Shewmake, on June 12, 1989, and they began their life together. Before Mike got sick, he made his career as a steak cook and worked for many years at Cattle Baron Steakhouse, where he cooked for celebrities such as Porter Wagoner and Moe Bandy. Mike's hobby was working with wood and he also loved country music. Mike graduated with the class of 1981 from Azle High School. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Francis Newberry; and a sister, Catherine Newberry. Survivors: Wife, Dona Williams of Azle; son, John Williams and wife, Shannon, of Azle; daughter, Brook Williams of Azle; grandchildren, Nevaeh, Bryleah, Keegan, Ricky, and Makayla; brother, Gary Newberry; sisters, Debbie Schwarz, Pamela Wamsher and Mary Newberry; sisters-in-law, Claytha Bartlett and husband,Butch of Azle,and Gena Dolen and husband, Billy of Azle; mother-in-law, Carol Shewmake (Bam); numerous nieces and nephews.
