David was a graduate of Azle High School and attended Ranger Junior College and the University of North Texas, where he earned his master's degree in education. He was a principal for 30 years until he had to retire because of his illness. David's love for his job created an atmosphere that was conducive to learning. He not only stressed the importance of education, but because of his personality he had a way with his students and teachers that put them at ease, and they all thought that each one of them was his favorite. The schools that he touched were Perrin, Hubbard, Lake Worth, Alvord and Millsap. His love for his family was apparent; there was always a vacation being planned to the beach, ski slopes, or just a weekend away to the Hill Country. David was an avid Rangers and Texas Longhorns fan and many weekends spent with family watching them on television. He was the best PaPa ever, and was a big influence in their young lives, that will leave a lasting impression on them.
