MINERAL WELLS -- Joseph Hampton McMillan, 84, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013. Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 6657 N. FM 113, Weatherford (near Garner). Interment: Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation: 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials: Bethesda United Methodist Church. Joseph was born Sept. 29, 1928, to William Henry and Cleopatra Ann Smith McMillan. After high school, Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. After being honorably discharged, Joseph attended Tarleton State University and graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree. He was a fifth-grade teacher for 25 years and assisted students at City View, Bryson, Roby and Roscoe elementary schools. He was an active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Henry McMillan Jr. Survivors: Sisters, Margaret Adams and husband, J.K., of Muleshoe and Mary Ann Miller of Perrin; nephew, Joseph Houston Adams and wife, Gail, of Houston; nieces, Barbara Ann Murphy and husband, Mike, of Wichita Falls and Janet Talley and husband, Greg, of Arlington; great-nephews, Shane and Jason Murphy and Trevor Talley; great-nieces, Kathryn Carlson, and Anna and Jessica Adams; great-great-niece, Jordyn Carlson; best friend, Tommy Jackson; and many cousins and friends.White's Funeral HomeMineral Wells, 940-325-3311
