ALEDO -- Natha Lee Shannon, 96, a resident of Aledo since 1959, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Weatherford. Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Aledo United Methodist Church, Oak St. and Pecan St., Aledo. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington. Visitation: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Shannon family suggests contributions in Natha Lee's memory to the Building Fund at Aledo United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011. Natha lee Shannon was born May 26, 1916, in Fort Worth, the first of three children born to the late John Alexander and Stella Leona Carter Hughes. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening and she was a former member of the Fort Worth Garden Club and United Methodist Women. Natha Lee became a member of Aledo United Methodist Church in 1959 and directed their choir for 32 years. She also sang in the choir until she was 92 years old. Natha Lee graduated with the class of 1934 from W.C. Stripling High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Shannon; a son, Alan Shannon; a grandson, Sean Alan Shannon; her parents; and two brothers. Survivors: Son, John Shannon and wife, Vicki, of Aledo; four granddaughters; one grandson; 11 great-grandchildren; and a loving church family.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
