Ruth Ann Blanton

PELICAN BAY -- Ruth Ann Blanton, 69, went into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, April 18, 2013, with her loving family by her side. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Saturday in Sharp Cemetery, Bell County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle. Ruth Ann Blanton was born March 7, 1944, in Florence, the baby of ten children born to the late Oscar Simms and Annie Williams Childers. Ruth graduated with the class of 1962 from Florence High School and married the late Tom Blanton on Oct. 17, 1992. She was a lifelong Southern Baptist. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Carlton "Tom" Blanton on June 2, 2012; a step-son, Tommy Blanton Jr; a grandson, Aiden Hawley; her parents; and eight siblings. Survivors: Step-son, Richie Blanton and wife, Sharon, of the Colony; daughter, Melissa Hawley of Azle; grandsons, Scott and Ben Blanton; granddaughters, Sarah and Emily Blanton and Megann Hawley; brother, David Childers and wife, Lawanna, of Weatherford; and a host of loving friends.
