Dorothy Lee Taylor Penrod, 82, passed away May 23, 2013 in Tucson, AZ from injuries sustained in an accident. Services: 11:00 am Monday, June 3 at White's Funeral Chapel, Springtown. Interment to follow at Authon Cemetery in Garner. Visitation: 3 to 5 pm Sunday at the funeral home. This amazing woman, known as Dottie by many, was born November 16, 1930 to Lloyd and Annie Mae Taylor. She had a brother named Billy who, along with her parents, preceded her to heaven. Born and raised in Garner, Dorothy graduated from Tech High School in Ft. Worth in 1949. Not long after, on December 2, she was united in marriage to her late husband Charles Dillon Penrod and began making a family. Survivors: 5 children, Charles Dwain Penrod and wife, Dona of Azle, Teresa Ann Griffin on Los Angeles, Ricky Wayne Penrod and wife, Analyn of Los Angeles, Gregory Allen Penrod of Springtown, and Connie Machelle Penrod of Seagoville; 10 grandchildren, Jehromie, DeAnna, Brandiegh, Alan, Jared, Jordan, Emily, Amanda, Ross, and Shelby; 6 great grandchildren, Alexus, Rhyan, Andyn, Samantha, Kylie, and Oliver; several nieces and nephews, including Michael Steven Penrod who always referred to her as Mom; aunt, Romayne McCreary, 92 years young, of Weatherford; as wells as cousins and numerous friends. Dottie was a beautiful, kind, and generous soul who always put the well-being of others before herself. All of us who knew her were blessed to have her in our lives. She will be missed.
