Laverl Wilson, 83, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at a Fort Worth Hospital with her loving family by her side.Service: 2 P.M. Tuesday at Cottondale Church of Christ. Interment: Boyd Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main, Springtown. Laverl was born May 18, 1930 in Paradise to the late David Andrew and Esther May Pearson. She graduated from Springtown High School in 1947. Laverl married the love of her life, Bill Wilson September 3, 1950, they were married for 33 years at the time of his passing. She retired after many years with the Springtown ISD. Laverl loved sewing, cooking, gardening, cracking pecans with a hammer on the back porch, and shelling peas. She had a servant's heart. Laverl also enjoyed playing cards and dominos. Her mother's family were the founding members of the Cottondale Church of Christ. All of Laverl's grandchildren were baptized at the Cottondale Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy George Wilson; daughter, Evelyn Sue Wilson; and brother, David Andrew Pearson III. Survivors: daughters, Judy Lynn Dereta of Springtown, and Debra Joyce Wakeland and husband, Joe of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Eric Shane Foster and Kari Kristine of Fort Worth, Meghan Nicole Dereta of Fort Worth and Joe Wilson Wakeland of Paradise; sister, Estelee Faris Romer of Arlington; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved pets, Oscar, Fred, Emma and Zoe.
