Juanita Kathleen Crain, 70, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in Burleson. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Tuesday in Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main St., Springtown. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Crain family suggests contributions in Juanita's memory to First United Methodist Church of Springtown, 109 West 3rd St., Springtown, Texas 76082. Juanita Crain was born July 21, 1942, in Abilene, daughter of the late Raymond P. and Juanita Althea McFarland McElroy. She made her career as a registered nurse and was the charge nurse at HEB Hospital and Harris Hospital in Azle, both in ICU, for many years. Juanita also worked in home healthcare. She enjoyed animals of all kinds, especially her horses, German shepherds and cats. Juanita was a member of First United Methodist Church of Springtown for more than 30 years where she served on the board of trustees and tended the rose garden. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Phillip Michael McElroy and Raymond McElroy Jr. Juanita was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt, and caretaker and healer to people and animals. Survivors: Son, Raymond Crain and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Bobby Wade and wife, Tami, and Adam Crain; great-grandchildren, Easton Wade and Piper Wade, all of Burleson; sister, Ann Cummings and husband, Bob, of Crawford, Ga.; brother, Jim McElroy and wife, Leigh, of Bend; nieces, Linda, Susan, and Morgan; nephews, Patrick and Michael; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of loving friends.
