WEATHERFORD -- George Goddard, 82, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, in Weatherford. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. George Arnold Goddard was born Sept. 8, 1930, to the late Francis Leon and Ora Mae McAdoo Goddard, in Newkirk, Okla. He married Norma Jean Todar on July 12, 1982, and they began their life together. George worked for General Motors in California for 9 years, then in Arlington and finally retired from Shreveport after many, many years as a machinist. His first love was being a jockey and he rode all over the country over the years. George worked on several ranches through the years, the last being the Rhodes Ranch in Palo Pinto. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Mineral Wells for nearly 20 years. George was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Arnold Goddard; a daughter, Lydia Joan Goddard; two brothers; one sister; and his parents. Survivors: Wife, Norma Goddard of Weatherford; daughter, Laura Jane Moulder of Cleburne; stepchildren, Jackie Robinson, Dora Lea Bell, Ruth Ann McBride, George Melton and Vickie Briggle; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and a host of loving family and friends.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
