Lena Dorothy Bane

Lena "Dorothy" Bane, 91, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Service 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 103 S. Main in Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, Mineral Wells Hwy, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. Dorothy was born on November 9, 1921 in Laneville, Texas to John and Mittie Barron. She married Elmer J. Bane on January 23, 1943, and they had two children. They made their move to Weatherford in 1958 for employment with the Texas Pythian Home as house parents for the boys' dormitory. They remained at the Pythian Home until 1966. Dorothy always maintained strong relationships and love for "her boys." She retired from W. H. Bowden Department Store in 1980 and was a past member and Past Chief of the Pythian Sisters. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful volunteer. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; son-in-law, Donald W. Thompson; daughter-in-law, Kay Bane; five brothers; and one sister. Survivors include, her son, Ronnie Bane (Margaret); daughter, Charlotte Thompson; grandchildren, Carrie Thompson, Kymberly Densmore (Jeremy Steward), and Chris Bane (Mandi); and great-grandchildren, Hunter Bane, Dylan Densmore and Taylor Steward.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
