Martha Jo Maddux

January 21, 1946 — July 10, 2013

Martha Jo Maddux, our "sweet Mimi" went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Wednesday, July 10, 2013 after a long battle with heart disease. Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 17 at New Hope Baptist Church, North of Azle off Hwy 2257 and New Hope Road. Martha Jo was born October 18, 1930 in Hope, Arkansas and was raised in a little town, Fulton, Arkansas, along the Red River. As a young woman she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Educators Insurance. After moving from from one state to another until finally settling in the Great State of Texas. She worked in Fort Worth as an accountant for over 20 years and later moved to Azle and retired here for another 30 years. Martha was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was in the VFW Ladies Auxillary in Fort Worth and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She loved being outdoors and on the go. Martha loved fishing when you could keep her still, and picking up aluminum cans at West Bay-Marina's along Eagle Mountain Lake for exercise and a little extra cash. She was affectionately known as "Mimi" by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved ones and friends. Martha believed in following the golden rule and was loved and respected by many. Martha is survived by her daughter, Denise Wilson of Springtown; sons, Buddy Smith of Fort Worth, Bobby Oller and Gene Oller both of Fulton, Ark., also blessed with many grand and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved so very much.
