NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Joseph Rollin Nightingale, 91, of North Richland Hills, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013, in Weatherford. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 3713 Harwood Road, Bedford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Peach Tree Alzheimer's Care Facility, 315 Anderson St., Weatherford, Texas 76086. Joseph was born in Champaign, Ill., to Clair and Bertha Nightingale on June 17, 1922. He worked as the director of The Learning Center for American Airlines, retiring after 28 years, and also worked for 10 years helping those in need through St. Michaels Resources for Recovery. In retirement he became a biblical scholar specializing in the Gospel of John and was a published historian of Abraham Lincoln. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Clare Janet Caster. The family wishes to extend gratitude to the amazing caregivers at Peach Tree Place and Covenant Hospice and Palliative Care. Survivors: His wife, Patricia; son, Robert E. Nightingale and wife, Mary; daughters, Janet L. Haslam and Ellen J.
