WEATHERFORD -- Jeannie Mathis, 73, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, surrounded by family at her home in Weatherford. Celebration of Life: 10 a.m. Thursday at Garner Baptist Church, 2304 N. FM 113, Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Mathis family suggests contributions in Jeannie's memory to the Children's Fund at Garner Baptist Church. Jeannie Webb Mathis was born Sept. 29, 1939, in Tampa, Fla., daughter of the late Everett Monroe and Ruth Wildman Webb. She owned and operated the Lambert Switch Bar B-Q Store at Lambert, with her husband, Tom Mathis. Jeannie also worked as a secretary for State Farm Insurance and participated in the early years of the Peach Festival in the food department, where she won the Best of Show ribbon and many other awards in the 1980s. Her main objective in life was living for the Lord and caring for family and anticipating their every need. She was a member of Garner Baptist Church for many years. Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents.
