Jason E. Winsett, 40, passed away peacefully at his home in Weatherford on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Memorial Service: 10 am, Saturday, August 3rd at Couts Methodist Church, 802 N. Elm St., Weatherford, 76086. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Project 44, 8309 Ohara Lane, Fort Worth, 76123. Jason was born September 4, 1972 and served in the Marines as a corporal of the Guard and Squad leader from 1993-1997. He worked for City Center Security from 1997-2000 as a Field Training Officer and Residence Security Officer. He was employed at Cooks Children's Medical Center from 2000 to the present as a Field Training Officer, a Lead Officer and Security Services Investigator. Jason volunteered for Cooks Children's Medical Center for Camp Courage for the past 4 years. He was a member of the Cook's Honor Guard, High-Five Donor and HAM radio operator. He loved to travel with his wife, fishing with friends, golf, spending time with his 4 dogs and was an avid Jimmy Buffett fan. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Jason knows he was someone they could count on in any situation. He had a heart of gold and loved life to the fullest. He was the best husband, brother, uncle, and friend anyone could ask for. You were blessed to have Jason in your life. Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Lee Etta Owens, father, Richard E. Winsett Sr., and brother, Richard E. Winsett Jr. Survivors: wife, Karen Winsett, sister, Mary Winsett, and numerous other family and friends.
