WEATHERFORD -- Marion A. Carlton, 82, beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, in Azle. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Marion Alford Carlton was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Healdton, Okla., son of the late I. L. and Sina Stice Carlton. He met his wife, the late Betty Marie Phillips Carlton, while they were students at Wayland Baptist College in Plainview and they were happily married for 57 years. Marion spent 42 years as a pipeline technician for Diamond Shamrock. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Marion had lived in the Weatherford area since 1976. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church for 36 years. Marion was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carlton, on Jan. 4, 2009; and his parents; sisters, Vera Fronterhouse, Betty Rainey and Lora Kilcrease; brothers, Weldon Carlton and Bobby Carlton. Survivors: Daughter, Leah Morris and husband, George, of Azle; son, Philip Carlton of Weatherford; grandchildren, John Morris and wife, Teresa, of Azle, Nathan Morris and wife, Ashley, of Vernon, and Kallie Carlton of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Ian, Noah, Luke and Addie; sisters-in-law, Edith Scudder, JoAnn Cotten, and Theo Phillips, all of Lubbock, Bettye Carlton of Norman, Okla. and Maxine Carlton of Paul's Valley, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
