Retha Faye Duckworth

WEATHERFORD -- Retha Duckworth, 91, longtime resident of Weatherford, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, in Weatherford. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Retha Faye Duckworth was born April 27, 1922, in Bentley, Okla., daughter of the late Cyrus and Cloey Capps Draper. She married Joe Duckworth in Durant, Okla. in October of 1941 and made her career with Continental Insurance of Dallas. Retha retired after 25 years of dedicated service. She loved to cook and would try to outdo her sister with desserts for family reunions. More than cooking, Retha and Joe absolutely loved children. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church. Retha was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Duckworth; a daughter, Phyllis Duckworth; a great-granddaughter; her parents; a sister; and three brothers. Survivors: Daughter, Joey Furr and husband, Charles, of Weatherford; son, Ronnie Duckworth and wife, Theresa, of Arlington; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Clark of Victoria; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
