Buddy Robinson

July 5, 1941 — August 17, 2013

WEATHERFORD -- A shadow of sorrow was cast over our community when Buddy Robinson, 72, builder of friends, families and cars, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at 8:30 p.m., at his home surrounded by family. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Robinson family suggests contributions in Buddy's memory to Texas Metro Wildlife Rehabilitation, 6424 Parkmont Drive, Arlington, Texas 76001. He was born Ralph Alford Robinson but would be quick to let you know not to ever call him that. He was mostly called Buddy, but often just called "Dad." He was born in Fort Worth to William Robert Robinson and Lottie Mae Montya. Though he grew up and lived around Fort Worth and Granbury, he called Weatherford home for the last 30 years. He was known around town for the automotive business he owned and the old cars, hot rod tractors and various creations he loved and built. He was a man's man and was known for a firm handshake and a fair deal. He loved to laugh and was a great storyteller with a deep voice and colorful expressions. If he was not wearing a shirt (and almost never sleeves), it was because he gave it to someone who needed it more. He deeply loved his family and friends and will be best remembered for the strong bonds and fantastic memories he created. Buddy lost his fight with pancreatic cancer after three rounds and eight tough years. Not an easy battle, but you rarely heard him complain. Survivors: His wife, Donna Rabel Robinson; and eight children, four children by birth, Ralph A. Jr. "Pepper" Robinson, Guy William "Salty" Robinson, Buddy Joe Robinson and Lacey Robinson, and four children through marriage, Vickie Danford, Lisa Gay "Stinky" Cady, Cory Wood and Amy Wood. Buddy is also survived by his sisters, Bobbie Brewer and Jo Ann Sweet.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
