MILLSAP -- Jean Guess, 85, went home to her Lord on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, surrounded by family in Weatherford. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Couts Memorial United Methodist Church, 802 N. Elm St., Weatherford. Interment: Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Born Jan. 23, 1928, to John Mack and Mary Katherine Tanner Bell, Jean Bell Guess grew up and attended school in Rochester. In 1946, she married the love of her life, Curtis Guess, and together they enjoyed making their home in Millsap. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She always had a smile and either fresh baked cinnamon rolls or a pecan pie. Much of her time was spent watching her beloved Texas Rangers. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Curtis Andrew Guess; and her parents, John Mack and Mary Katherine Bell; a brother, John Shelby Bell; and sisters, Cora David, Lena Corley, Lula Mae Capers, and Margaret Fore. The Guess family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the care given to Jean by Caring Hearts Home Care and Dr. Chris Rheams and the nursing staff.
