Maggie Johnson, 74, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 in Ft. Worth.Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Tuesday, September 24 at First Baptist Church of Aledo, 128 Elm St., Aledo, 76008. Interment: Aledo-Brown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 pm, Monday at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.Maggie H. Johnson was born on September 1, 1939 to parents LB and Lela Howard in Orange. Maggie graduated from Kirby High School in Woodville in 1957. She married Daniel W. Johnson on March 8, 1958 in Woodville.Maggie retired from General Dynamics after 35 plus years of service in various administrative assistant positions. Maggie was a skilled seamstress and embarked on many sewing challenges such as making her daughter's wedding dress to making Halloween costumes for her grandson. She also enjoyed many other crafts including embroidery. Maggie was a avid fan of Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Aledo Bearcats, and the Aledo Bearcat Regiment. Maggie also enjoyed watching musicals at Bass Hall and Casa Manana.Maggie was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Aledo. Her family and friends will miss her greatly but take comfort in the fact that she is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, LB and Lela Howard; brother, Kenneth Howard; and brother-in-law, Lenard Johnson.Maggie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Daniel W. Johnson of Aledo; daughter, Cindy Heady and husband, Ricky of Ft. Worth; son, Michael Johnson of Aledo; grandson, Nicholas Heady of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; four sisters, Sybil Mitchell and husband, Sherman of Woodville, Roberta Teal of Bridge City, Deanie Berry of Carthage, and Faye Beth Purifoy and husband Eddie of Mauriceville; brother-in-law, Phillip Johnson of Ft. Worth; sister-in-law, Simianne Hayden and husband, Chris of Ft. Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society
