HUDSON OAKS -- Frieda Fern Alexander, 93, beloved mother, aunt and friend, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013. Memorial: A private memorial will be held at a later date. Frieda Fern Alexander was born in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma on January 20, 1920, the daughter of Elsie Bloom Alexander and Garlan Cecil Alexander. She was the granddaughter of Mr. and Mr. Alfred E. Bloom and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pierson Alexander, all prominent local pioneers in the Oklahoma land rush. Ms. Alexander was a self-taught horsewoman and trick rider, much to her mother's dismay. She could ride any horse, and often took naps on the backs of horses while her father worked in the fields as a farmer. Ms. Alexander graduated from Kiowa, Kansas High School in 1937 and attended Lawrence, Kansas Business School. She later took several classes at Liberal, Kansas Community College where she was pleased to maintain a perfect GPA even at the age of 74. Ms. Alexander worked as the Register of Deeds in Dodge City, Kansas and later in the Seward County Courthouse office as the assistant appraiser. Ms. Alexander retired to Texas ten years ago to reside with her daughter, Janis Huneycutt and her husband, John. Janis and John are especially grateful to Wanda Reid of Lyons, Kansas for remembering Ms. Alexander at each holiday with a card that kept Ms. Alexander up to date on family news. She kept every card and treasured them until her passing. Janis and John would also like to thank her caregivers at Sterling House and her physician, Dr. Michael Mutchler. Ms. Alexander was extremely proud of her nieces and nephews and their accomplishments. "Susie, Larry, Tommy, Beverly, Wanda, Bobby and Johnny were the brightest and most beautiful nieces and nephews anyone could ever hope for!" Ms. Alexander was preceded in death by her sister, Eva Laverne Albright and her two brothers, Lawrence Pierson Alexander, and Virgil Alfred Alexander. Survivors include her precious daughter, Janis Huneycutt and husband, John; her beloved dog, Gucci Pucci; and her nieces and nephews.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
