WEATHERFORD -- Tom Stockstill, 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Friday at White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made in Tom's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society or March of Dimes. Tom was born on March 9, 1924 in Walters, Okla. to B. E. and Hettie Stockstill. He married Mary Chisolm in Strawn on Oct. 4, 1947. Tom spent six years in the United States Navy, where he served in the South Pacific, participating in Crossroads Atom Bomb Test and two years at Naval Medical Research Institute, Bethesda, Maryland. He was employed for twenty-two years at General Dynamics and then spent eighteen years in the City of Weatherford Water Department as plant superintendent. Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn; his parents; sisters, Dorothea DeShane, Moncie Gray and Ruth Moore; brother, Bill Stockstill. Survivors: Loving wife, Mary; son, Craig and wife, Kathy, of New Braunfels; daughter, Mary Jo Medcalf of Weatherford; grandson, Chandon Gray and wife, Leslie, of Tolar; granddaughter, Kristi Gold and husband, Brian, of Harwood; great-grandsons, Joseph and Chet Thomas Gold.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
