FORT WORTH -- Thomas Earl Barnard, 84, beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at his home. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Thursday at White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Thomas Earl Barnard was born January 20, 1929, the only child of the late Earl and Ollie Barnard, in Stamford. He graduated from Weatherford High School, Class of 1947 and attended Weatherford College for two years. Thomas played football in high school and loved sports. He married Norma Jane Wilson on May 6, 1951 in Granbury and they raised two children together. Thomas honorably served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as Party Chief on a survey crew for GEO Prospectors for many years. Thomas traveled and lived all over the United States and particularly enjoyed living and working in Australia for six years. He supported the Knights of Phythius in Weatherford for 65 years. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Norma in 1981; and his companion of his later years, Mrs. Tommie Hanson in 2007.
