FORT WORTH -- Gerda Hickey, 85, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of White's Funeral Home, 101 N.E. 4th Ave., Mineral Wells. Interment: Whitt Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Hickey family suggests contributions in Gerda's memory to Universal Hospice and Palliative Care, 5651 Bridge St., Fort Worth, Texas 76112. Gerda Goldamer Hickey was born April 5, 1928, in Germany. She married William "Bubba" Hickey, a soldier in the US Army, and they moved around the United States eventually settling in Whitt. Among her hobbies, cooking was a top, especially German food. Gerda loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all of her heart. She had a beautiful smile that alluded the love of Jesus and heart for people. She had a wonderful sense of humor and sweet spirit. While Bubba was still living, they were active in the VFW and Meals on Wheels in Mineral Wells. She was a member of Mineral Wells Seventh-day Adventist Church. Gerda was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bubba" Hickey; a daughter, Jean Powell; a grandson, James Robert Dankworth; a great-grandson, Brayden Mayhar; her parents; a sister, Charlotte Stultz; and brother, Fred Goldamer. Survivors: Children, Jube Dankworth and husband, Jim, of Fort Worth, Ethel Lynn Southerland of Haltom City, Rose Walker and husband, Cleburn, of Stephenville, William "Billy" Hickey of Azle; step-daughter, Lady Jane Hickey of Sherman; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Christa Spaduzzi of Colorado; two nieces; one nephew; and a host of loving family and friends.White's Funeral HomeMineral Wells, 940-325-3311
