Rhoda Pearl Stevens

August 28, 1921 — April 5, 2014

ALEDO -- Rhoda "Pearl" Stevens, 92, of Aledo, left this worldly earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 5, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at White's Funeral Chapel in Weatherford. Interment: Central Cemetery. Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home. Born in Millsap, on August 28, 1921, to Arthur T. Mims and Ethell Daisy Harris, Pearl grew up and attended school in the Parker County area. On October 1, 1938, she married the love of her life, Walter F. Stevens; and together they ultimately enjoyed making their home in Aledo. Pearl was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Upon raising their daughters, she worked for the Aledo ISD as the Cafeteria Coordinator and retired after 25 plus years. She always had a smile and was known for her delicious fried apple pies and her special cards and personal handwritten notes she sent to everyone. She was a longtime member of the Aledo First Baptist Church. Her family and friends will miss her greatly, but take comfort in the fact she is now with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and enjoying fellowship with family and friends that have gone before her. Pearl was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 1/2 years, Walter Stevens, in February 1995; her parents, seven brothers; 13 sisters; and a daughter, Floy Jean Talley in March 2002. Survivors include daughters, Geneva Ford and husband, Charles of Rising Star, Winna Tinney and husband, William, of Poolville, and Ethelda Sue Bartee and husband, Gil, of Benbrook; son-in-law, Nelson Talley, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, William Tinney, Windy Tinney, April Simmons, Walt Ford, Quint Ford, Chris Ford, Bill Talley, and Jaidyn Swartz-Bartee; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Ford, Kaydee Ford, Matthew Ford, Treavor Ford, Megan Ford, Wes Ford, Candace Smith, Sam Simmons, Don Simmons, Dillon Spears, Carley Spears, Brian Talley and Jason Talley; two great-great-grandchildren on their way; and many loving nieces and nephews and a faithful, loving group of dear friends.
