Lonnie Venable went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 12, 2014, after a three-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis.Memorial service: 3 p.m. Monday, April 21, at First United Methodist Church of Azle.Lonnie and family moved to Azle in 1975. He worked with the Azle Youth Association in its early years as a board member and as a baseball/softball umpire with his son, Cary. He also held several leadership positions at First United Methodist Church of Azle. He retired from Parker-Hannifin in 2010. He was very passionate about his family and grandchildren. He was owner of Tri County Dog Training where he shared his love of dog training. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.Survivors: Wife of 50 years, Donna Hale Venable; children, Connie Roach and husband, Darrell, Cary Venable and wife, Tammie; brother, Claude Venable; grandchildren, Trey, Hollyann, Amanda, Sara, Jared, Jacob; great-grandchild, Braeden; and hunting companion, Pepper, a golden retriever.
