WILLOW PARK -- Elizabeth Mixson, 89, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Aledo Church of Christ, 201 S. FM 1187, Aledo. Interment: Aledo-Brown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Elizabeth R. Mixson was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Lipan, the first of four children of the late Virgil and Jimmie St. Clair Matney. She married Howard J. Mixson in 1942 and their union produced two children, son, Bobby, and daughter, Renna. She moved to Willow Park in 1964 and was a member of Aledo Church of Christ for 50 years. Elizabeth made her career in the floral industry, first as a designer and in 1975 she and Howard started Creative Imports Florist Supply, the company she operated until her retirement about 10 years ago. Elizabeth was a hard worker and creatively talented. She was full of determination and a great inspiration to others. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Mixson; and her parents. Survivors: Children, Bobby W. Mixson and wife, Cathy, of Keller and Renna Wood of Willow Park; grandsons, Hunter Mixson of Keller, Christopher Mixson of Austin, Jim Wood and wife, Mitzi, of Argyle and Travis Wood of Fort Worth; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Melba McCall of Rotan and Shirley Holt of Watauga; brother, Vaughn Matney of Fort Worth; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
