Nelwyn Sherrill Tharpe

Nelwyn Sherrill Tharpe, 71, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, after a long struggle with cancer. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in the sanctuary of Springtown Baptist Temple, 201 J E Woody Road, Springtown. Interment: Spring Creek Cemetery in Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Sherrill was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Richland Parish, La., daughter of the late Harrel and Maggie Branch. She was a dedicated member of the Springtown Baptist Temple for more than ten years. Nelwyn loved to quilt and faithfully read the Bible every morning. Being an outdoors enthusiast, she spent many hours sitting on the porch enjoying the birds. Sherill was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Bobby Joe Branch. Survivors: Daughters, Theresa Arnold and husband, Bobby, of Springtown and Sandy Cobb and husband, Patrick, of Red Oak; grandchildren, Madelynn Herndon and husband, Tyler, of Springtown, Shelby Arnold of Springtown, Timothy Cobb, Tyler Cobb, Natalie Cobb, and Jenny Cobb all of Red Oak; siblings, Lee Branch and wife, Jane of Magnolia, Arkansas, Donald Branch of DeBerry, Diane Branch, Wayne Branch and wife, Dedi of Springtown, Michael Branch and wife, Janice of Kilgore, Ronnie Branch and wife, Linda of Stephenville, Dieanne Middleton and husband Donald Ray of Granbury; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
