WEATHERFORD -- Bobbie Evelyn Howarth, 84, of Weatherford, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 2, 2014. Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: 11 a.m. Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bobbie's memory to Wounded Warriors Project, 12672 Silicon Drive, Suite 105, San Antonio, Texas 78249. She was born in Aledo, the daughter of the late Henry Eugene and Eliza Jane King. Bobbie (known by many as Evelyn) worked as the Director for Dependent Youth Activities, where she mentored and cared for many children of military families. Prior to that, she was employed at Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood. She was also an active President in the Fort Hood NCO Wives Club and the Fort Hood Women's Bowling Association. Bobbie was a past member of the Church of Christ in Weatherford, and the First Christian Church in Carbondale, Ill. She enjoyed traveling, dominoes, cooking, and mostly being with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was lovingly known to everyone as MeMaw. In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her sisters, Merle Jackson, Mildred Matthews, Verna Tillery, Ruth Richter, Alma Wolfe; and brother, Elmer King. Survivors: She is survived by her husband, Samuel C. Howarth Jr.; her daughter, Cathy and husband, Melvin Jones, of Mansfield; her son, Samuel C. Howarth III (Sam/Buddy) and wife, Terri, of Pharr; her son, Alan and wife, Kathy Gibbs, of New Braunfels; her sister, Hazel McCrary of Weatherford; her grandchildren, Tiffany Gulledge, Heather Jones, Brandon Jones, Samuel Howarth IV (Quade), Dustin Howarth, Brian Howarth, Larry Gibbs, Cassie Clarke, and Nikki Gibbs; her great grandsons, Tripp Gulledge and Nicholas Gibbs; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog and cat, Squirt and Kitty.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
