Donnie "Don" Wright, 66, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, in the arms of his wife and daughters surrounded by his family. Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Silver Creek United Methodist Church, 2200 Church Rd., Azle, 76020. Interment: Veal Station Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086.Don was born November 23, 1947 in Weatherford to Reverend Denzil and Ina Wright. The son of a Methodist minister, he attended many schools before graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1966. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U. S. Air Force.He married the love of his life, Linda Van Winkle, on July 14, 1972 in Alvarado. Don and Linda raised 2 daughters in Weatherford. Monica and Angie were the apples of their Daddy's eye. Don was a member of Silver Creek United Methodist Church. Don retired from Lockheed Martin after many years of service. After retiring, he was proudly promoted to Grandad and the apples of his eye were replaced by his 4 grandchildren. He spent his last years catering to his grandchildren's every wish. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ina Faye England.Survivors: Wife of 42 years, Linda Wright; Daughters, Monica Boyd of Saginaw and Angie Romer and husband Sean of Azle; Grandchildren, Terence Boyd, Makayla Boyd, Coby Romer, and Carson Romer; Brothers, Denzil Wright, Jr. and wife Jeri, Ronald Wright, Michael Wright and wife Dee Dee, and Timothy Wright and partner Philip Phifer. Don will also be fondly remembered by many additional relatives and friends.
