HALTOM CITY -- Neva Lou Shull Wood, 78, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014. Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Birdville Baptist Church, 3141 Carson Street, Haltom City, 76117. Interment: Zion Hill Cemetery in Weatherford. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Birdville Baptist Church. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Birdville Baptist Church Park Maintenance Fund, 3141 Carson Street, Haltom City, 76117. Neva was born August 15, 1935, to Harold and Gladys Stevens Shull in Grandfield, Oklahoma. Neva's twin, Reva Sue, lived only seven weeks after their birth. The family moved to Texas in 1942, where Neva later graduated from Arlington High School. Neva married Cebern Riley Wood, Jr., on December 20, 1952, and lived in Arlington, Weatherford, and Milton, Florida before settling back in Fort Worth. Specializing in creating beautiful surroundings, Neva's greatest joy was providing a loving environment as wife, mom and MeMom. She used her God-given abilities to host and cook for many life-long friends in her home. A talented artist and creative crafter, Neva worked in various floral shops and a craft store. She spread love through the joy of the teddy bear and was a member of The Bear Patrol, Texas Guild of Bear Artists and a Fenton Collectors group. A member of the Sojourner S.S. Class at Birdville Baptist Church, Neva was active in the choir and the VBS ministry. Survivors: Her devoted husband of 61 years, C.R. Wood; sons, Reverend Steven Wood and wife, Lynn, and Scot Wood and wife, Shaw; grandchildren, Patrick Miller, Katie Christianson, Riley Wood, Eva Wood and Megan Wood; great-grandson, Jack Wyatt Christianson; and sister Deanne Robins and husband W.H.
