WEATHERFORD -- Suzanne Roberts Brown passed from this life on July 6, 2014, after a courageous 50 year battle with Type 1 Diabetes and all the many complications associated with the debilitating disease. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Main St., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Brown family suggests contributions in Suzanne's memory to North Side Baptist Church Music Ministry, 910 N. Main St., Weatherford, Texas 76086. Suzanne was born in Nocona on Dec. 10, 1953, the daughter of Wylie and Adeline (Letz) Roberts. She moved to Kaufman in 1963 and graduated from Kaufman High School in 1972. Suzanne attended Tyler Junior College for one year and then transferred to Texas Woman's University in Denton where she earned her Bachelor's degree in nursing. She worked for thirty years as a dedicated nurse in Weatherford, and All Saints and Harris Methodist hospitals in Fort Worth. On May 30, 1975, Suzanne married Jerry Wayne Brown in Kaufman. They made their home in Weatherford, where their son, Matthew Wesley was born. Matt's miracle birth served as total affirmation and testimonial proof of an all powerful God. The family enjoyed skiing and a variety of other vacations. Suzanne especially enjoyed visiting and traveling with a group of life long girlfriends from her school days dubbed the "sisterchicks". Survivors: Suzanne is survived by her husband, Jerry, who faithfully supported her in the long struggle with diabetes; her precious son, Matt and his wife, Kim; and the "light of her life" granddaughter, Emma Claire; she is also survived by her loving and generous parents, Wylie and Adeline Roberts, of Kaufman; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Brown of Weatherford; her sister, Sherilyn Hatchel and husband, Marshall, of Kaufman; and a great number of relatives in both families; as well as many friends in the Weatherford area and in Kaufman, where she grew up.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
