Joyce Mae Brown, 82, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 Memorial Service: 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Azle. Joyce was born February 24, 1932 to Edmond and Olivia Phillips in St, Landry Parish, LA. For the last seven years she resided with her daughter and son-in-law JoAnn and Thomas Jackson in Azle. She had the opportunity to travel the world with her family and husband Sydney Brown of over 20 years. Joyce was one of 13 children. Her passion was spending time with family and reunions were an annual celebration. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Sydney Brown; her son, Jack Johnson; brothers, Jessie, Donald, and Matthew; sisters, Gloria, Mable, and Rosalie Phillips. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law JoAnn and Thomas Jackson; grandchildren Kraig Gillis, Carrie Baker, Jessie Johnson, and Luke Johnson; and 8 great grandchildren that fondly called her GG; sisters, Isabelle Armond, Irene Scallon, Vera Chauncey, Geraldine Darbonne, Peggy Barker, and Mary Feig. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
