Billy Ray Beene

WEATHERFORD -- Billy Ray Beene, 81, beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his home. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Billy Ray Beene was born February 20, 1933 to William A. and Bertha Crella Beene in Weatherford. He was a football coach for several high schools and he loved to play golf with all of his friends. His friends nicknamed him "short and loud" because when he was out, people knew he was around. Billy was an active member of First Baptist Church of Weatherford for many years. The family would like to thank Becky Burrows, R.N. with New Century Hospice for her loving care and support. Billy was preceded in death by his little girl, Sheri Campbell Beene.
