WEATHERFORD -- Mary Evelyn Fox, 84, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014, surrounded by her family at a local hospital. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: Hill Cemetery in Parker County. Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mary Evelyn Phillips was born August 31, 1929 to Pelham Bailey and Mary Carolyn Thomas Phillips in Millsap. She grew up in Millsap and graduated from Millsap High School. Mary met and later married the love of her life, James "Jim" Fox on March 18, 1951 and they began their life together. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Human Resources and retired from there after many years of dedicated service. Mary loved to sew, cook, play piano and sing, but most of all she loved her family. She was a devoted christian and was a lifelong member of Highway Church of Christ. Mary was preceded in death by: Husband of 63 years, James "Jim" Fox on Feb. 18, 2014; daughter, Angie Jackson; grandson, Justin David Fox; her parents; sister, Opal Thornton; and brothers, Orville Phillips and Cleo Phillips. Survivors: Sons, Gregory Fox and Michael Fox, both of Weatherford; grandchildren, Phillip, Amy, Josh, Melissa, Bailee, Jeremiah, Sarah, and Jacob; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Charles Fox and wife, Jenette, of San Antonio; friend, Nancy Fox of McAllen; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving church family and friends.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
