AZLE -- Robert G. "Bob" McClung, 88, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 in Azle following a battle with cancer. Memorial Service and Inurnment will be held in DeKalb at a later date under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society, or other charity of your choosing. Bob was born and raised in DeKalb (Big Woods) and graduated from DeKalb High School in 1943. He was a cowboy in his younger days, having worked at Gallagher Ranch in San Antonio, Alisal Ranch in Solvang, Calif. and 6666 Ranch in Guthrie. Bob also tried his hand at bull riding and being a rodeo clown. He worked as an airplane mechanic. Bob retired from Raytheon after many years as a field engineer with the Hawk and Patriot missile systems. He was stationed in Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Kuwait during his tenure with Raytheon. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Diana Felice Barclay McClung. Survivors: Children, Robert G. (Bev) McClung, of Sacramento, Calif., Janet E. McClung (Steve) Gomez, of Azle, Timothy S. (Darcy) McClung, of Edgewood, Wash. and Kelcey D. McClung Anderson of El Paso; nine grandchildren, David, Daniel, Seth, Cody, Ryan, Victoria, Estevan III, Kameo and Krimson; three great-grandchildren, D. J., Amber and Angeliq; three great-great-grandchildren, Ryder, Tarek and Jayse; sister, Ida Winnie McClung, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; brother, Jerry Dan (Lynda) O'Rear, of Salado; cousins, Martha Robb of Marshall, Hazel Spradlin and LaMena (Rac) Slider, of DeKalb, Frances "Hootie" Jones of Breckenridge and Jimmy (Deb) Stewart of Purdon.White's Funeral Home Azle, 817-444-3211
