AZLE -- Vernelle Thomas, 94, loving mother, grandmother and faithful friend, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014. Graveside Service: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances donations may be made to the Humane Society of North Texas or the Azle Animal Shelter. Vernelle Thomas was born May 17, 1920 to Harry Lee and Mamie Letitia Warren Thomas in Fort Worth. She graduated from Keller High School and attended Brantley Drawn Business School. Vernelle married the love of her life, Rembert Adam Thomas in March of 1938 and they spent many happy years together until his passing in 1992. She was a member of Desk and Derrick Club and worked for many years at Sinclair Oil Company. Vernelle was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Rembert Adam Thomas; her parents, Harry and Mamie Thomas; and brother, Charles Edward Thomas. Survivors: Son, Jim Thomas and wife, Glenda, of Keller; daughter, Lassie Salitore and husband, Fred, of Azle; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
