WEATHERFORD -- Mary Wilda Pamplin Starns Laxton Thomas, 89, died Sept. 26, 2014, in Weatherford. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Interment: Andrews West Cemetery, Andrews. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. She was born March 8, 1925, in Taylor, to Henry Foy and Laura Lou (Brock) Pamplin. She was reared in Konawa, Okla. and a graduate of Vamoosa High School, near Konawa. She lived in Andrews for 40 years, retiring from Verizon in 1981. She moved to Weatherford in 1995 and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Carl Eugene Laxton and William Arthur Thomas Jr.; a son, Carl Michael Laxton; and daughter, Mary Sue Laxton Woodward; three brothers, Billy, Jim and Jack Pamplin; and sister, Wanda Pamplin Huckleberry.
