Lynne P. Hamblin went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 24th, 2014. Her Life Celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Springtown with Dr. Hal Kinkeade, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be held 10 am Tuesday at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, Ponca City, OK, with a graveside service officiated by Rev. Ken Newport, Pastor, Second Baptist Church, Ponca City, OK. Visitation for family and friends will be at White's Funeral Home in Springtown 3 to 5 pm on Sunday, November 30th, 2014. Lynne was born October 24th, 1927, at Gunn Station outside of Tonkawa, OK, the daughter, of Myrtle and Bob Pitts. She attended elementary and middle schools in Enid, OK, and graduated from Hayward High School in 1946, in Hayward, OK. On September, 4, 1948 she married the love of her life, Marvin A. Hamblin, in Billings, OK. After a short time in the oil fields of Texas with Marvin, they moved to Ponca City, where they made their home. They raised two sons, Dennis and Steven. Lynne loved her family and made many personal and loving sacrifices for them over the years. She loved crafts and making porcelain dolls. While in Ponca City, she was a member of the Home Extension Club and was a long time member of Second Baptist Church where she was active in the music ministry. After Marvin passed away in 2002, she moved to Springtown, TX, in 2009, to be close to her son, Dennis, and his family. While there she became a member of First Baptist Church-Springtown where she participated in the Love & Stitches Group and Joy Singers. She has touched many lives and has left a wonderful legacy in her 87 years of life. She is survived by her son, Dennis Hamblin and wife, Linda of Springtown; grandson, Steven D. Hamblin and wife, Katrina of Seymour; granddaughter, Kimberly L. Hamblin of Springtown; two great grandsons, Adrian and Jonthan also of Seymour; niece, Donna Detrick and husband, Gerald, of Ames, OK; and nephews Don L. Pitts, Jr. and wife, Carole of Lincoln, NB and Terry Pitts and wife, Mary of South Saint Paul, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Marvin A. Hamblin; son, Steven Lee Hamblin; and two brothers, Oland Pitts, and Don L. Pitts, Sr.
