Joyce Scherer

Joyce "Mawmaw" Scherer, 71, beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and friend, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 at home. Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Central Cemetery in Peaster. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Edna Joyce Cook Scherer was born October 18, 1943 to John Winston and Robbie Loggins Cook in Weatherford. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she dedicated her life to her family and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert James Scherer; and twin sister, Loyce Pendergraft. Survivors: Son, Mike Scherer and wife, Karen; daughters, Teressa Gatzemeier and husband, Dean and Darla Scherer; niece, Lorie Cominsky and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Mike Scherer, Jr. and wife, Monika, Sheree Gray and husband, Jason, Ashley Gibson and husband, Clint and Stormie Lightfoot and husband, Chad; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
