FORT WORTH -- Juanita Hamzy passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at the age of 87. Service: 1 p.m. Thursday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home. Juanita was born Dec. 12, 1926, in Knoxville, Ark., the youngest of 13 children of James and Martha Young. On Sept. 9, 1942, Juanita married Pete Hamzy and together they lovingly raised their five children in Little Rock, Ark., and Benton, Ark., and in 1986 moved to Weatherford. Juanita loved to quilt and tend to her rose garden, but mostly she loved to cook for and be surrounded by her grandchildren and family. Mamaw Nita was preceded in death by Pete, her husband of 57 years, in 1999; nine brothers; two sisters; and two grandsons. Survivors: Brother, Glenn Young and wife, Rita, of Clarksville, Ark.; children, Sharon Saari and husband, Steve, Shannon Hamzy and wife, Janice, Pam Lyerly and husband, James, Janet James and Brad Hamzy and wife, Susie Stark; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; along with many, many friends whom she loved and considered family.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
