Johnie T. Harlin, Sr., 98, passed away February 16, 2014 in Fort Worth.Graveside Service:1pm, Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Poolville Cemetery. Visitation: 8 am to 4 pm, Wednesday, February 19 at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main, Springtown.Johnie, a long time resident of Poolville, was born in Melissa September 1, 1915 to the late Jesse J. Harlin and Molly Peebles Harlin. He was a retired Master Sergent in the United States Air Force where he served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. During his long service to our country Johnie was awarded numerous medals, including the Purple Heart. He also retired as a diesel mechanic from Red Ball Freight. Johnie married his late wife, Estaleen, on February 25, 1950. From an early age he loved farming and working in his garden. Johnie was a member of the Springtown Church of Christ.Johnie was preceded in death by his wife, Estaleen; daughter, Carol; and grandson, Jason.Survivors: children, John Harlin, Jr. and wife, Ann, Gayla Blevins and husband, Richard, Joy Brantley and husband, Carl; grandchildren, Christopher, Christy, Brent, Jennifer, Julie, and Melaina; numerous great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
