WEATHERFORD -- Lawrence "Pete" Hunter, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Highway, Weatherford. Pete had an amazing and full life, starting with serving in World War II, on the Oriental Odyssey, with the Air Group 2 as an ammunitions ordnance man. He then began a 32-year career in the Fort Worth Fire Department. After retiring from the department, Pete later became an entrepreneur, owning several businesses then working and living on his ranch in Weatherford. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and fishing. Survivors: Loving daughters, Mary Jane Wooten of Weatherford, Mae and Thomas Jones of Fort Worth and Gail Hunter of Fort Worth; sister, Curtis Louise "Sister" Hatfield; grandsons, Tony and wife, Dee Dee Harrington, and Brian and wife, Doris Harrington; granddaughters, Natalie and Ronnie Stanford and Sonya Killgo; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
