James Vernon Thomson

WEATHERFORD -- James Vernon Thomson, 92, died January 15, 2014 in Fort Worth after an extended illness. Graveside services: Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Weatherford. No visitation is planned. James was born December 23, 1921 in Evergreen to James Q. Thomson and Annie Morrison Thomson. He was married to his loving wife, Ruby Parsons Thomson. James Thomson was an Army veteran of World War II and was retired from General Dynamics after more than 40 years of service. He was also an active member and deacon at Northside Baptist Church in Weatherford. He was predeceased by his parents; a son, James Thomson, Jr.; first wife, Doris Gunter Thomson; second wife, Evelyn Dahr Thomson; all his siblings; and grandson, Robert H. Owens. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Thomson; daughter, Sharon Ann Thomson; grandchildren, Stephen and (Margaret) Owens, Travis and (Paulette) Owens, Kenna Owens, K. D.
