Grady was born on October 27, 1930, to Charlie and Ollie Barton in Walnut Springs. He went to high school in Austin and continued on to get his degree from Southwest Texas State Teacher's College (now Texas State University). Grady met Rose while they were teaching in Burnett. Grady was bi-vocational. He worked at General Dynamics where he was a chief design engineer for the F-16 and F-111 and worked on numerous other projects (including stealth technology and depth charge technology for submarines). He also founded and pastored Aledo Christian Center beginning in 1971. Grady was a living testament that God's ways work. He not only taught people the importance of hearing God's voice, he discipled them in walking out their Christianity in everyday life. It was said of him that he ?provoked mankind to love, forgive and walk in the power of the Spirit.? His legacy lives on in the thousands of lives who were touched by his truth given in love and encouraged by the Godly example he lived each day of his life.
